Richard Murphy Hospice House has been faced with unprecedented times, and a feeling of uncertainty. But, because our gala sponsors stepped in and showed so much generosity, we have persevered.
Dear Friends and family of the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation:
First, we would like to say that we hope everyone is safe and well from this pandemic. So much has changed during this year- our world, gathering spaces, our jobs, schools, and businesses. But one thing that has not changed is our community and the love it has for each other. The thought of “what if we never had a gala was something we never imagined would come true. Like the rest of community, we were faced with unprecedented times and a feeling of uncertainty especially regarding the HospiceHouse. This is when all our wonderful 2020 gala sponsors stepped in and showed so much generosity and gratitude for our organization and house. This outpouring of support makes the Richard Murphy Hospice House what it is today.
For the past Thirteen years, the Richard Murphy Hospice House has served over 660terminally ill residents and their families at absolutely no charge. The House can do this through all the efforts of our supporters of the gala. There are so many kindhearted people that assist us in our day to day operations. A special thanks to our regular volunteers, lawn care, cooks, professional services, our Board of trustees, Gala Board, ourHospice House Staff, and many more. Thank you to all our supporters who deliver household products and meals to the Hospice House. They are greatly appreciated and needed by the grieving families. Thank you to the different fundraisers that help raise awareness and money.
The loss of a loved one is so difficult, and our goal is to alleviate some of this burden, provide comfort and a beautiful home to the residents and their families. 24-hour caregivers, no financial burden, peace and comfort. Thank you to our community that has made the operations of the house possible. It is and honor and extremely heartfelt to care for those facing the end of life, and we appreciate the trust and confidence that families have given to the Richard Murphy Hospice House and our dedicated staff.
We look forward to moving into a new year. While looking back at this difficult time, we will have an immerse feeling of pride and appreciation for our community, sponsors, donors, and each other. We pray that everyone who has faced this pandemic in anyway either in sickness, hardship, or death, the strength and healing we all deserve.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for next year’s gala on August 28, 2021. The venue will be held, again, at the Chappapeela Sports Park. The theme will be Pirates of the Caribbean. Melissa Dufreche will be our gala chairman.
